FASZINATION HAMBURGER HAFEN / Kiedel
In his time, the Hamburg evening paper called him "Hamburgs
Hafenfotograf Nr. 1" (Hamburg's No. 1 Harbor Photographer).
Walter Lueden understood, better than any other in the 50s
and 60s, how to capture with a camera the fascinating world of
freighters and passenger ships, tugs and barges, sea people,
stevedores and shipbuilders.
His pictures convey to the observer the unequaled atmosphere of a
world port in its time, as smoke from steam tugs and grain
elevators filled the air and the cargo was not yet carried in
shipping containers.
96 pages, 21 x 27 cm, 137
pictures, duplex cloth binding with dust cover.
