JACK LONDON / DER SCHRIFTSTELLER UND DAS MEER

He was a writer, journalist, photographer, and adventurer in the best sense - when Jack London died in 1916 at the age of 40, he left behind a work, that has fascinated readers from his lifetime to today.
A the centre of this illustrated book is the sailor Jack London and his voyages - one of the great passions of this experienced author. The royalties for books and articles in newspapers allowed him to build his dream boat in 1906 - the 17 meter long ketch SNARK.
With it, his young wife Charmain and a black cook, London took an 18 month voyage across the Pacific and Southern Ocean, first to Hawaii, then to the Marquesas, Tahiti, and finally to the Solomon Islands, Samoa, and Fiji.

This adventure and other voyages are documented in this volume with many seldom or never before seen photographs.

128 pages, 21 x 24cm, 88 black and white photos, 2 illustrations, cut flush binding.
