RAUS INS BLAUE / Hauck
"All sailors are dreamers." With these words the author Bastian Hauck begins his book about his adventures in the Baltic - and takes us along with him on the voyage.
Aboard his 50-year-old TADORNA, a modified Folk boat, he voyages from Berlin along the Oder to Szczecin and then under sail further east. Without much preparation, with the simplest means and the smallest budget - simply "out into the blue."
Hauck was stranded on the Polish coast, discovered the Russian enclave Kaliningrad, Riga and Tallinn and threw himself into the wild St. Petersburg nightlife at the easternmost end of the Baltic. In lively and clever stories, Hauck conveys a colourful picture of his summer at sea and in the end invites the reader to live his own dream. "If not now, then when?"
