VOSSCHEMIE shark skin (biozid free) antifouling

The special condition of the shark skin is the prototype for a biocide free and ecological antifouling. The specific micro structure and the elasticity of the covering impede a constant marine fouling.
Micro organisms can still adhere in little amounts since sharks move more and a lot faster than yachts, but can be wiped off free of residues or will be washed off while moving through the water.
In this manner a 70% residue-free hull can be achieved for a season without the use of biosides.

The artificial shark skin can be applied to any epoxy primer after sanding down.
A thin-film primer is needed as bonding agent. The skin has to be applied at least 7 days before launching.
Spreading rate: about 14 m²/l.
