Bronze halyard winch for classic boats: Functional, compact and noble.
All pieces made from high-tensile bronze; axles and gears made from stainless steel.
The winch is intended to be mounted on the side of the mast step and hauls wire or rope up to 8 mm, using two large drums (small winch: D = 50 mm, L = 140 mm).
Wire capacity: 40m (6mm wire), 27m (7mm wire).
Both drums can be turned directly (high gear) or using a second gear.
Drive ratio is 1:1 and 3:1 (second gear).
In second gear the drums can be turned together using a single handle.
The drums can be braked during release using the handle and a clamping hand brake.
For use with a standard winch handle (11/16" eight-point), sold separately.
Comes ready to mount on the starboard mast step (as built) or to port.
Also available:br>- winches with three drums and other sizes for halyards up to 10 mm (Drum: diameter = 90 mm, L = 190 mm).
- with electric or hydraulic motor
