McMURDO HRU Replacement Kit for EPIRB

MED / SOLAS approval.

McMURDO HRU Replacement Kit. The two variants replace the McMURDO Break t-HRU.

The kit has been specially developed for replacement in EPIRBs from the manufacturer McMURDO. It consists of the Hammar hydrostatic water pressure release unit (HRU), the standard safety bolt (this must be replaced every time the release unit is replaced!), seals, screws and a safety clip with safety cord.

The HRU for E3/G4/E5/G5 (82-962-0001A) fits the following EPIRBs (also from other manufacturers):

• McMURDO E5, G5, E3, G4, Rescue 406, Precision 406
• Kannad Marine EPIRB, SportPro, SportPro Plus
• SAILOR EPIRB I, EPIRB II, 406&GPS, SGE/SE 406-II

The HRU for E8/G8 (23-145A) fits the following EPIRBs (also from other manufacturers):

• McMURDO Smartfind E8 Auto
• McMURDO Smartfind G8
• McMURDO Smartfind G8 Auto AIS
• Kannad SafePro AIS Auto
• Kannad SafePro Auto
• Sailor 4065 EPIRB GNSS Auto
• Sailor 4065 EPIRB Auto

Prior to installation, the appropriate two year approval period mark (from installation) must be made on the HRU.

Should the vessel sink, a spring-loaded blade in the HRU will cut the securing bolt at a water depth of 1.5 - 4 metres, allowing the EPIRB to float freely.
