Five young people sail around the world in a catamaran with a changing crew. This may seem like an adventure holiday, but they are pursuing a mission: to search for, test, improve and rebuild low-tech products all over the world and, with their help, to live in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way.
The young people pass on the knowledge they have gained - not only on their journey, but also in cooperation with NGOs, which in turn help refugee camps or crisis regions to help themselves.
Corentin de Chatelperron, engineer for "green solutions" and builder of a boat in which glass fibres were replaced by natural fibres, presents the mission in this book: This is how a self-sufficient and sustainable life works with low-tech instead of high-tech.
Low-tech ideas and inventors from all over the world are described. Instructions for special low-tech solutions and further QR codes to detailed instructions and films make the title a practical handbook.
Many photos and original diary entries by the young crew illustrate the journey, about which the broadcaster arte has produced a 15-part series.
240 pages, 288 illustrations and photos, format 21.1 x 24.0 cm, softcover with flaps. German edition.
