Since its first publication in 1932 (as Volume IX of "Quellen und Darstellungen zur hansischen Geschichte"), this book has been the standard work for anyone involved in the construction, restoration, operation or research of an Ewer or similar small sailing vessels.
The reprint of the 1985 reprint bears the slightly falsified title "Die Ewer der Niederelbe" instead of "Der Ever der Niederelbe".
