DURADON is an impregnated sail and canvas cloth, woven from spun polyester.
This sailcloth corresponds in appearance and feel to cotton or flax cloth, and has all of the advantages of synthetics:
Very good UV resistance, high abrasion resistance, tensile strength and tear resistance.
Because DURADON, through its traditional weave, shows significantly more stretch than modern synthetic materials, corresponding guidelines should be observed in the use for sail making.
The special impregnation of DURADON cloth resembles the oil-copper finish used on sail cloth in earlier times.
Advantages: Highly waterproof and durable pliability, but nevertheless breathable.
Disadvantage: The impregnation colour might stain a little.
Colour: creme or maroon.
Seam marks on both sides.
Cloth width 61 cm (24"), complete rolls are about 50 m long.
