Gangways
Smaller boats at the North Sea and Baltic Sea are rarely entered via a ship's gangway. For larger traditional sailing ships the use of a safe gangway fitted with sturdy handles and removable stanchions is mandatory. Heavy vessels have a high freeboard and pulling closer to the pier is almost impossible. A non-slip boat gangway should be stable, light and easy to handle.
