Electric Motors
The development of electric motors for boats and yachts has been progressing rapidly for years. The topic of electric propulsion on the water is more important than ever in terms of environmental protection. While for decades there was hardly any alternative to the classic gasoline outboard and boat diesel, nowadays more and more boats are being equipped with electric drives. No wonder: electric drives are much quieter than combustion engines. They have no gearbox and are therefore virtually silent and wear-resistant. In addition, they protect the water quality
in the respective sailing area. And last but not least, compared to diesel or gasoline engines, the maintenance requirements for electric motors are very low. Gasoline or diesel in the water, fuel odor or engine oil in the bilge no longer exist with the electric drive.
