Mast & Boom
Whether Bermuda rig or a gaff rig - most classic yachts and traditional sailing vessels use authentic wooden masts. Even classic motor yachts are equipped with wooden motorboat masts. Wooden masts and spars, such as boom, jib-boom, gaff, topmast, staysail boom or spinnaker booms can be made of solid wood or glued from several layers. Some are provided with a hollow profile. Sliding up and down of gaff boom and gaff sail is made possible by gaff claw, mast hoops and parrel beads consisting of oval wooden spheres. Concerning the headsails, spinnaker boom fittings and furling jib systems can be considered.
