On classic yachts, traditional ships and professional vessels, manual on-board toilets or marine toilets have been in use for decades. A manual yacht toilet type is using a hand pump to flush the toilet bowl. After the flushing process, toilet waste is pumped to the outside or into a holding tank. Using a switch valve the toilet user selects two different functions. "Pump off and flush" allows the sewage to be pumped out continuously.
