Without an integrated lip valve, small movements of the ship can cause a pump effect, known as the siphon effect. When installing the vent loop on the inlet side, please note that it must always be positioned on the discharge side behind the pump. The pipe system for wastewater on ships is usually gas-tight PVC hose used as sanitation hose. These special wastewater hoses are particularly thick-walled, odour-proof and flexible and available in various diameters.
