Draining Plugs & Cockpit Drains
Many classic and modern yachts have a self-draining cockpit above the waterline. The cockpit drains or scuppers are located at the lowest point of the cockpit floor. Incoming water can flow out through bilge pipes or hoses. Tenders, dinghies, smaller sailboats or trailer boats often have small openings or through-hulls just above the waterline. If the boat is pulled up the slipway, water runs together at the stern and can flow off. While the boat is in the water, the openings have to be sealed with appropriate drain plugs. Of course, these fittings also have …
… other uses, for example as sealing plugs for fish boxes, water tanks or rain barrels. In addition to self-bailers for sailing dinghies, Toplicht has a large selection of shapely boat drain plugs and sealing plugs made of brass, well designed for installation on classic wooden boats.
