Hermann Winkler, the collector and researcher of maritime history, dedicates his third book to the small, sailed working boats of the coastal waters around Fischland-Darss-Zingst, Hiddensee and Rügen.

The classic workboats were and are used in many ways by fishermen. Although they can be found in every harbour, they often do not receive much attention. To ensure that these boats do not disappear unnoticed, Winkler has taken them on.

In addition to historical (picture) material, he also shows current photos of the small, sailed working boats that are still used today, for example for tourist purposes. Thus another gap in the maritime history of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has been closed.
