Die Trobolo Kompost-Trenntoilette wurde von Friedrich Lange entwickelt. Der Hannoveraner reiste jahrelang mit seinem in Eigenregie ausgebauten Mercedes 809 „Emma“ quer durch Europa und Afrika. In jedem bereisten Land stellte sich die Frage nach dem Toilettengang und der ökologisch korrekten Entsorgung der eigenen Hinterlassenschaften. So entstanden 2010 die ersten TROBOLO Prototypen, gefertigt aus recyceltem Altholz auf einem Campingplatz in Südfrankreich.
Längst haben sich die TROBOLO Kompost-Trenntoiletten (auch als Selbstbau-Set) tausendfach bewährt: in Wohnmobilen, VANs, Tiny Houses, Schrebergärten, auf Yachten und Wohnschiffen wie narrow boats. Die breite Auswahl an Toiletten-Varianten wird in Polen produziert.
