MED- / SOLAS-approved GMDSS handheld radio for ships and their lifeboats that require equipment. The high-performance lithium battery (BP-234) is also required for this.

The device is waterproof to a depth of 1 m (IPX7), particularly shock-resistant (drop from a height of 1 m), has an eye-catching yellow housing and large buttons that can be operated safely even under the most difficult conditions.

All VHF channels are available so that the device can also be used in normal on-board operation with the rechargeable NiCd battery (included in the scope of delivery).

The special, non-rechargeable high-performance lithium battery BP-234 (9.0 V / 3300 mAh) is used for GMDSS operation in an emergency at sea and in a lifeboat, guaranteeing operation of the device for at least 8 hours even at -20°C. This battery is available as an accessory and is required to fulfil the MED / SOLAS requirements.
